
Jennifer G. Albright, MA, ATR, LPC/MHSP
Jennifer G. Albright, MA, ATR, LPC/MHSP is a registered art
therapist, licensed professional counselor, and licensed
mental health service provider. She received her undergraduate
education at Tulane University and completed her masters
degree at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. Ms. Albright
grew up in Memphis, TN and returned once she completed her
masters in order to work as an art therapist and counselor.
She has worked extensively with adolescents in a variety of
different capacities. She began her career as an in-home
therapist counseling children in foster care; she then
commuted for 2 years to The Star Center in Jackson, TN, using
art therapy with teens in the classroom setting as well as
with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental
issues, primarily autism and Asperger's Syndrome. During this
time, she presented at the American Art Therapy Association
Conference on the importance of increasing self-concept in
clients with Asperger's and autism, using four case studies to
illustrate the presentation. She worked as residential
counselor with boys ages 14-18 with problem sexual behaviors
through Youth Villages and was the treatment coordinator/
therapist at Memphis Recovery Center in their adolescent
facility.
Currently, Ms. Albright is self-employed and works in a
variety of different capacities, using art therapy and
traditional counseling methods with clients in a private
practice capacity at Experiential Healing Center as well as
running many groups in the Mid-South area. Her private
practice is focused on utilizing art therapy/ psychodynamic
approaches to assist clients of all ages with a variety of
different issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction,
eating disorders, family conflict, problems with self-concept,
trauma, and other “complications of life”.
